The Glenville Fire Company was privileged to be able to host the final staging area for the New England 911 Memorial Motorcycle Ride that drew thousands of firefighters, police officers and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over New England in their ride to Ground Zero to pay tribute to fallen heroes. The Company arranged to have hot coffee, juice, bagels, donuts and port a johns for the larger than expected rolling thunder. Several of our members who own motorcycles joined the ride with police escort down to Ground Zero for a memorial prayer and BBQ at an FDNY fire house. The 2003 event, depicted in photos on this site, was so successful that it has become an annual event with the Glenville Fire Company continuing to provide logistical support, participation and brotherly camaraderie.
