Fire-fighters can look intimidating in emergencies wearing masks and breathing apparatus and carrying frightening tools such as axes. It is not unknown for children to hide from the fire-fighters who are there to save them and so the Company is happy to arrange for visits to Glenville Station or, for special occasions, to give a demonstration in the Glenville area.

If you would like to visit the station, or have a fire engine come to your event, PLEASE contact us first! We are easy to get hold of, call our answering machine on 532-9606 and leave a message. We will respond as soon as we can. Otherwise write to The Secretary, Glenville Volunteer Fire Company, Glenville Fire Station, 266 Glenville Road, Glenville, CT 06831 or send us an e-mail.

Everyone always enjoys the visits and we feel everyone benefits. Children benefit as they learn that fire-fighters are always there to help, adults get a better understanding of what we do and how we do it and we benefit from the contact and feedback from the community we serve.

We cannot make any guarantees, and we must always be ready to response to emergencies, but if you would like to visit the station, or have a fire engine and crew attend your event, get in touch with us. Please give us plenty of detail and plenty of notice. If one of our appliances is out of service attending your event then arrangements have to be made for another to take its place and our job is to ensure the safety of everybody in our area.

We look forward to your visit.
